Winter - Part 1

November, December, and January were very fun and busy months for all of us! The holidays were a blast, and Reagan absolutely loved spending so much time with family. She did have her first black eye just in time for Thanksgiving. She dropped her baby under a coffee table and bumped her head when she bent down to pick it up. Poor thing. But just as we hoped, she loved everything about the Christmas season - going to cut down the tree, the lights, the decorations, the Christmas specials, and even going to see Santa ("Ho, Ho" she called him) She didn't quite understand the concept of opening presents - had no interest really - but once she saw the gifts, loved playing with them! Santa brought her a kitchen, new baby doll (which she will not allow any clothes on), a beanbag chair, and lots of fun other gifts. She also loves her new Jesse (from Toy Story), shopping cart, snow boots, and snowsuit! Of course, her favorite gift, and ours, was announcing that she will have a baby brother or sister in mid-July! She loves to pat my belly and says "baby", which just melts my heart. We're very excited for #2, and can't wait to meet this little one.

In the meantime, Reagan is growing up fast! She is 100% toddler now. It's amazing how independent she has become. She is running around, talking up a storm, and insists on completely feeding herself. She picks up new words everyday, and tries to repeat most words back when you say them to her. We are constantly counting things, like her buttons on her clothes or the cupboards in the kitchen to get her used to the idea. And the other day Dave was talking to me and referring to the time said "one" and she said "two!" It cracked us up!

She is also putting together little sentences like "Kitty eat" and "Jesse hat." Recently, she has even begun to tell us after she went to the bathroom. "I poop" she says. Does that mean she's ready to potty train already?! That makes us excited and nervous all at the same time! We went and bought a potty just in case, and for now just keep showing it to her and telling her that is where she will go to the bathroom. I have some major reading to do!

Her current favorite toys are her baby, Jesse, barn & farm animals, kitchen, and books. Of course she also likes to talk on the phone, and gets into her own little conversations with the grandparents or whoever else is on the lucky other end of the receiver. But probably one of her very favorite things is to watch singing/dancing numbers from old musicals! "Singing in the Rain" and "We're a Couple of Swells" from Easter Parade are her two very favorites, and it is so hystercial to watch her watch them. She is just mesmerized and tries to sing and dance along with them. Then, throughout the day she will just randomly start humming her version of the tunes. And she lights up when you start singing the song for her.

She continues to be a great eater. She wants to hold onto things instead of having them cut up most times, and since she still only has a few teeth it can be a challenge. But she does really well and eats a lot of fruits, veggies, cheese, yogurt, etc. Meat can sometimes be struggle. Her very favorites are probably peas, grapes, eggs, yogurt and tapioca pudding. Random, I know!

Anyway, I'm sorry it's been so long since my last post. I will try to post again at the end of March. In the meantime, here are the photos from November, December, and January. I am really going to throw some people off, because starting in January I decided to start using the Shutterfly website instead of Kodak Gallery. The software is just much easier! (You still won't have to sign in to see them.)

Hope everyone stays warm & enjoys the snow as best we can!
