Reagan is Walking!!!
Reagan took her first steps in early August and it was the most wonderful sight. She all of a sudden looked so grown up and we are once again just purely amazed by her. After taking her first steps in the living room, we brought her into the kitchen and she walked around the whole kitchen by herself. The next morning she walked around the whole downstairs! However, the day after that she decided that she wanted to hold on to us again and would only walk by herself when she thought no one was paying attention. But over the past week she started walking more and more and now is officially walking and even running on her own. Luckily her hesitancy gave us lots of time to babyproof, which was very nice!
She is also officially off of baby food and has quite the appetite. She really likes almost everything we’ve given her. She loves fruits and veggies (peas are her favorite), eggs, chicken, cereal, you name it! But her biggest love is – boys!! She seriously searches out the men in the crowd – whether it is her family or strangers – and gives them a big smile. What is really crazy is when she smiles and tilts her head - she’s a major little flirt! We know we are in serious trouble.
We’ve been teaching her a little sign language and she now signs “more,” “eat,” “all done,” “book,” and “swing.” It’s very fun to be able to communicate with her.
She loves playing with her toys and already has quite the imagination. She will take her bottle or her little cups and pretend to give her babies or stuffed animals a drink, and she even makes the “sipping” sound. Then she takes her cloth and wipes their mouth! She will also sometimes pick up her baby and pat it on the back, like she’s burping it. It is the absolute cutest thing. She also loves to play outside, especially on her swing. And she is still a definite water baby. Whenever we go up to the camp, she wants to be down by the water and when we took her to Green Lakes she absolutely loved walking along the beach through the shallow water. She cried when we picked her up to leave!
It was a very fun summer between relaxing at the camp, spending time with family, and visits from Uncle Kev from Denver, Aunt Blair from LA, and cousins Leslie, Katharine & Tim from Baltimore. We took a week off in mid-August and it was awesome having the whole week together. Dave and I even snuck away to Philadelphia for a night to see a Phillies game. At the end of August, we had to say goodbye to the current camp and are eagerly awaiting the closing on the new camp! It is on the same lake, but is slightly bigger and is a year-round place. Lots of fun things to look forward to!

Congratulations on walking, Reagan! Life will never be the same again. It is so much fun! So glad you posted the update and the pics. Great catching up with you this way. :)
ReplyDeleteWow! Reagan, you are such an independent little girl....walking, and (just as impressive)...flirting?!!! Someone warn the boys of the class of 2027 that there's a heart breaker on the loose! You are a sweet pea and I can't wait to visit with you and your mommy again (very soon I hope)!
