We had a wonderful October! Reagan was baptized on Sunday, October 11 at our old church in Liverpool by Pastor Paul (the pastor who married us). The baptism was during the church service, so that was a bit hard for her to sit through. But she did great during the actual baptism. She even smiled as Pastor Paul made the sign of the cross on her forehead! She looked so cute in her beautiful bapstim gown, made by Grandma Kinsella out of Great Grandma Kinsella's wedding dress! It was very special and we really appreciated all of the hard work that went into it.
We celebrated Grandad Dawson's birthday at Red Robin, which was our first attempt at dinner at a restaurant, but she did wonderfully. We also had fun getting pumpkins and enjoying the beautiful fall weather. She loved watching the leaves blow on windy days and checking out the pumpkins throughout the house. And her first Halloween was great. She stared as I carved our pumpkin and was fascinated by it when we lit it up. We dressed her up in her adorable pea pod costume and took her to a few neigbor's houses, which they all loved. I think I enjoyed dressing her up a bit too much, because I put her in her costume every chance I got. But she just looked so cute!
She is constantly amazing us with how much she can do now. She holds her head up extremely well and is always looking all over. She also kicks like a future soccer star on her kick toy (borrowed from Cooper Alvarez) and loves to hit the many buttons on the exersaucer (also borrowed from Coop). She has quite the personality, and is smiling all of the time or making some other funny faces. She seems to be very close to rolling over. She'll get all the way to her side but then can't seem to quite figure out what to do with the arm she's lying on. When she is on her stomach she can push herself up really well and doesn't get upset by it like she used to.
She's also napping much better now. All naps are in her crib, and she can mostly put herself to sleep. She's still pretty much sleeping through the night, though the time change did throw her schedule off a bit. Her hair continues to lighten and is also falling out a bit more - we keep finding some in her crib. :( We are guessing she will be a blondie, but some people still see some red in it. We shall see!
Dave had to go to NYC for a few days for work, which was his first time being away from her for that long. So he missed her greatly. It was also my first time being on my own with her all night, but we did great, just missed Daddy. We're also making our way through our first colds of the season, but so far just Dave and I have gotten sick. Hopefully she will avoid it.
She just loves having Grandma Kinsella and Grandpa Donegan (we're calling him Zippy for now - we will see if it sticks!). She lights up when she sees them and they do wonderfully with her. I'm still struggling with leaving her, but have at least gotten used to the new schedule for now.
So that's about it. We have her 4-month doctor appointment this Friday. We are curious to see her height and weight - she's definitely got quite the belly! We're also guessing that they will tell us she can start with some rice cereal. Oh boy!
Enjoy your Novembers. Here are the photos from her fourth month!
