Well, it’s almost halfway through March and I’m just now writing about February! Oh well - life is busy but so much fun.
Reagan continues to amaze us with her growing personality and new tricks. She babbles and “sings” more and more and has even babbled “mama” but not with any meaning. Regardless, it’s very fun to hear! She has outgrown some of her old favorite toys, so we have been adding new ones to the mix. She loves to sit on the floor and play and cracks us up as she seems to really concentrate on which toy to pick up and play with. She’s also becoming an expert eater and is moving more towards having meals – with rice or oatmeal and a fruit or veggie three times a day. She likes everything she has tried so far except for peaches. She completely purses her lips and refuses to open her mouth again after the first bite. It’s quite funny since she opens so wide for every other food.
Like every baby, she is obsessed with phones and remotes. When I give her my cell phone to hold, she turns it over and examines it, and runs her thumbs over the buttons. I swear it looks like she is trying to text! Oh boy, what have we done?! She also loves to look out the window and say goodbye as we leave in the morning or greet us when we come home. She gets so excited and starts banging on the door – it is very cute and of course makes us feel good that she recognizes us. She also gives us kisses now, pretty regularly. She loves kissing her glow-worm, her dollies, and especially her reflection in the mirror.
Overall, she is still a good sleeper, though has had a few nights where she has woken up quite a few times. We keep thinking it is due to teething, but then teeth never appear so who knows!
We have had a few play dates which have been fun, and we also celebrated Zippy’s (Grandpa Donegan), Grandmom Dawson’s, and Uncle Brian’s birthdays. She does really well now going out, even if it means getting off schedule. Though sometimes it takes her a day or two to get back into her routine. But we feel much more mobile, that’s for sure. This month she also had her first overnight away from Mommy & Daddy at Grandma Kinsella’s while we went to the big SU vs. Villanova game. She did great – it was me that had the really hard time. But the first one is done and over with and I’m sure the future sleepovers will go much easier.
She has loved the snow this winter, but we are all excited for spring and the warmer temperatures. Hopefully they stick around!
